Description

Bratislava City Tours

No Communist Tour Fri 19th Jan, Tues 23rd Jan, Sat 27th Jan, Sun 4th Feb

Much more than a political ideology, communism was a mandatory way of life. Journey with us behind the Iron Curtain as we explore soviet remnants of Eastern Bloc Bratislava & the contradictions in Slovakia’s Socialist Regime.

Bratislava occupied a unique place in history by sitting directly on the iron curtain. Our aim is to take you away from the touristy side of the city to discover how this controversial regime impacted directly on the daily lives of Slovaks. Some aspects were positive, some were negative, most were controversial & all are fascinating.

Tours are in English, take 2.5hrs & explore all Bratislava’s major former socialist sights as well as many intriguing forgotten spots key to this period.

What’s included:

  • Scenes of Espionage
  • UFO Bridge
  • Bratislava Castle
  • Petrzalka
  • Socialist Realism Statues
  • Freedom Square
  • Pioneers’ Headquarters
  • Pyramid Radio Station
  • Socialist Artwork & Propaganda

The Communism Tour is aimed at solo & small group travellers. No reservation required – just show up on the day 🙂
